This project started in 2021 with an iconoclastic impulse in response to the his-torical moment of pandemics, lockdowns, violence, etc
After building a swing and doing the first iconoclastic action against my studio wall, the process made me realize we should rescue old playground equipment charged with the patina of time and use for decades.
And vetry important, the process took us to the colateral benefit of new, restored playgrounds. To start the proposal for this project, we found a small, dilapidated playground, part of a little rural elementary school in Tres Marias, Mexico. And thanks to the sponsorship of Fundación Jumex we were able to do this project together with the exhibition “Juegos Iconoclastas” at the Juan Soriano Museum. Our objective is to continue this initiative in other parks and/or schools in Mexico and beyond.
